Our wrong image of Ethiopia

Many consider Ethiopia as potentially rich country. Some even say, one region of Ethiopia can feed the whole country if not the whole African population. These may be right, but this is naive. Millions are dying now. Where would the potential riches come from if we do nothing to produce it? We all know the Amharic saying, 'lam alechign besemay wetetwam imalay' (I have a cow somewhere where I cannot get her milk). Our riches (natural as well as human) has been degrading for the last 50 years and the trend has not changed. If we don't stop this trend then we are doomed to fail for ever and we will stop existing.
